Paper Bicycle

The Paper Bicycle Race has been a memorable feature of Engineering 310 for over a decade. Last year, we decided that the vehicles were becoming so good, so agile, and so robust that we could use them for Paper Polo instead of the traditional Bicycle Race, that is, polo played with chariots. Each chariot had a pusher or puller and a rider; only the rider was permitted to hit the ball.
The Paper Polo match went so well last year that we are geared up for another round – except this time we decided to add 2 goals and 1 ball (total: 4 goals, 2 balls – still only 2 teams). Only 2 of the goals will be active at one time, but will switch randomly throughout the match. The trick will be knowing which goal to defend and which goal to target!
The 07-08 Paper Bike assignment launched Thursday Sept 27. The match, known as Quad Goal Super Polo, will be held on Friday Oct. 12 at 4 PM on Roble Field. Spectators welcome!
